CFMA Houston is introducing The Martin P. Eckert Scholarship Program. Named after one of CFMA Houston founders and CFMA’s National Chairman 1988-1989, Martin P. Eckert Scholarship Fund is established to promote the further education and career advancement of individuals pursuing careers in accounting and construction or a construction related industry. The goal of the Martin P. Eckert Scholarship is to increase student awareness of CFMA and careers in the construction industry. 

 

The scholarship is intended for full or part-time students with a graduate or undergraduate degree plan in accounting, business (construction emphasis), engineering, construction management, or architecture, or successful completion of Certified Construction Industry Finance Professional (CCIFP) exam.  All candidates who apply by the deadline and meet the minimum requirements specified in the instructions are eligible for scholarships.  This scholarship fund is an investment in the field of construction, and in the greater Houston area.  They provide CFMA members, their families and other promising construction professionals with financial assistance while completing their studies

Members of the CFMA Houston Chapter are eligible for a scholarship program to encourage participation in preparing for and obtaining the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals (CCIFP) certification. The CCIFP designation is designed to enhance professional credibility, increase knowledge in construction field, and provide objective verification of knowledge. CCIFP Study Group

Become a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional!

The Houston Chapter Education Committee is forming a CCIFP Study Group to provide information about the exam in addition to tips for studying and focused sessions on topics. We will schedule the meetings after speaking with those interested so that we can try to accommodate for availability. It won't be necessary to attend every meeting, so feel free to join at any time.

About Jada Chambers:
 

My name is Jada Chambers, and I am a Master's student at Texas A&M University studying Construction Management. I received my Bachelor's degree in Architectural Studies from Texas A&M after transferring from the University of Tennessee where I was a student-athlete. During my collegiate years, I was a member of a plethora of student organizations such as TAMU Build, Aggie Women in Construction, and Association of Student Planners, to name a few. I am an avid city lover and enjoy learning about all things urbanism, being outdoors, and traveling. After gaining some experience in the industry, I plan to return to academia where I hope to impact the future leaders of the built environment.

About Carissa Cowan:

 

My name is Carissa Cowan, and I'm in the class of '26 at Texas A&M. I am the current president of AGC, Associated General Contractors, at Texas A&M, and I am utilizing my leadership role to take our AGC chapter to new heights.

About Addie Nowak:
 

Addie Nowak was born and raised in the Houston area as the oldest of 5 children. She is now a 2nd year Junior at the University of Texas at Arlington, studying Architecture with a minor in Business Administration. She sings in the local Catholic Church choir, participates in clubs on campus, and has a part-time job at the campus information center. Addie spends her free time with friends and family, seeing movies, and learning as much new music as she can. She plans to graduate in 2026 and begin her career, someday start a family, and through all of these things, serve the Lord.

About Brayden Stovall:

 

I am a graduating senior from Cypress Christian School. During high school, I have been involved National Honor Society, football, soccer, and in my church youth group. I plan on attending Texas A&M to earn a degree in manufacturing and mechanical engineering technology in the College of Engineering.
